Founder & Producer

Colin is a curator at Shudder, the leading online video network for horror fans, with curated programming ranging from hard to find independent fare to cult classics to Hollywood blockbusters.

From 1997 to 2017 Colin selected cutting-edge films for the Toronto International Film Festival, where he was in charge of the Midnight Madness and Vanguard programmes, specializing in diverse international genre cinema.

While at TIFF, he introduced countless new filmmakers to their first international audiences and hosted the premieres of films including Miike Takashi’s Ichi the Killer, Johnnie To’s Full Time Killer, Eli Roth’s Cabin Fever and Hostel, Wilson Yip’s SPL (Kill Zone) starring Donnie Yen and Sammo Hung, Pratchya Pinkaew’s Ong Bak: Muay Thai Warrior, Karyn Kusama’s Jennifer’s Body, Adam Wingard’s You’re Next and The Guest, Julie Ducournau’s Raw, Coralie Fargeat’s Revenge and countless others.

In 2011-12, Colin was also the Festival Director of ActionFest, the only film festival dedicated to showcasing international action cinema. He has served as an advisor, consultant and jury member at countless other festivals.

Also an avid film collector and archivist, Colin owns one of North America’s largest collections of Hong Kong cinema promotional materials, posters and lobby crds. And exhibition of 50 of his posters was held at the Cinematheque Quebecoise in 2008.  In 2010, he donated 200 feature films originating from Hong Kong and Taiwan to the University of Toronto.

Colin has also done acquisition consulting for international sales and distribution companies, and worked with filmmakers on marketing, sales and festival strategy. In addition to his curating and consulting efforts, he is also a producer with over a dozen credits to his name.
